Alysa completed her M.Sc. in Ecology at the University of Alberta where her research focused on the polar bears of western Hudson Bay. She has been involved in collaring and tracking Hudson Bay polar bears since 2010, took part in multiple field seasons out of Tuktoyaktuk and Churchill, and still enjoys spending time in Churchill whenever possible to watch the polar bears and other wildlife. Alysa joined the Polar Bears International staff in 2014 after volunteering for years as an educator and helping develop the PBI Bear Tracker. She is passionate about science education and polar bear conservation, and is dedicated to ensuring that future generations inherit a healthy planet. Alysa currently lives in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
