Leslie Bulion grew up on the Long Island shore, digging for sand crabs and looking under rocks for worms and sowbugs. She has written poetry since the fourth grade. Leslie loves to travel and wrote her very first book, Children’s Africana Award-winning FATUMA’S NEW CLOTH, after visiting East Africa. A lifelong learner, Leslie took an entomology class for adults, then connected insects to poems in her first science poetry collection, HEY THERE, STINK BUG. Leslie continues to pen funny, informative science poetry, including AT THE SEA FLOOR CAFE, RANDOM BODY PARTS, and three upcoming themed collections. Leslie also writes science-infused middle grade novels, most recently THE UNIVERSE OF FAIR. She loves to visit with readers and educators to share the science ideas that inspire her poetry and writing process.
